Billy Ray Kunkel
Billy Ray Kunkel, age 64, returned to his Heavenly Father on February 16, 2018 peacefully at his home in Dutch John, Utah, faithfully enduring to the end.
He was born April 21, 1953 in Olney Texas to Maxine and Olaf Kunkel. He married the love of his life, Sandy Graham, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They were sealed for time and all eternity on April 11, 1987 in the Provo Utah Temple.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, and loved running hounds with his sons. He enjoyed ranching in Browns Park, Utah being a true cowboy at heart. Bill retired after working 33 years at Clay Basin Gas Plant where he worked as a stationary Equipment Operator for Questar Pipeline. He was a hardworking, fun loving, all around good guy.
Bill served faithfully and loved his many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a dedicated Scout leader, home teacher and served in many different auxiliaries.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Kunkel. Sons Cody Kunkel, Ryan (Hannah) Kunkel, Kelly Kunkel and daughters Tifney (Josh) Kempton and Kayla Kunkel and eight grandkids. Brothers Jerry (Debbie) Kunkel of Kennewick, WA and Fred (Donna) Kunkel of Firestone, CO. He was preceeded in death by his parents Olaf Gerald Kunkel and Thelma Maxine Kunkel.
Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. We look forward to our reunion with him.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11AM at the Dutch John LDS Chapel. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Friday 10-10:45 AM at the chapel.
