We are the only funeral home within a 150 Mile radius with an on-site crematory.  Our crematory is operated inside our clean and secure state-of-the-art facility.

Our crematory is only operated by licensed and certified team members.

 

We cremate only one person at a time

It takes more effort to ensure that the cremation is handled with care, dignity, and high standards. To assure your loved one is being cared for appropriately, we adhere to a rigid 14 Point Pre-Cremation Checklist and involve two staff members in every cremation process. 

 

Your personal inspection is encouraged

 

We are the region's first and only crematory to encourage your personal inspection. We are the first to offer a special viewing room located next to our crematory to facilitate those who wish to be present for the start of the cremation process.

 

We strictly adhere to a Cremation Code of Ethics, an assurance to you of our commitment to dignity and honesty.

Understanding the cremation process

Cremation is the process of reducing the body of the deceased to fragments of bone by way of heat and flame. We prefer to say "cremated remains" rather than "ashes" because we believe that the term "ashes" can be misleading. Our funeral directors or crematory staff can explain the consistency of cremated remains in as much detail as you prefer. If you are considering scattering we would recommend you ask us to prepare you for what you will see.  Our Cremation Authorization form goes into some detail in explaining the cremation process, our policies and procedures. You will receive a copy of the completed form.

When You Select Cremation, You Still Have Choices.

The biggest misconception about cremation is that there can’t be a funeral service – or because the final disposition is cremation, there will be no visitation. Nothing could be further from the truth. With cremation, families could choose the comfort of a traditional funeral with the cremation taking place afterwards.

Traditional Cremation Funeral Service

 

The following items are included in this package:  Services of Funeral Director and Staff, Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Sheltering Remains, Day (2hrs) and Evening (6-9pm) viewings, Mortuary Chapel or Church Chapel Funeral Service, Cremation Fee, Refrigeration up to  3 days, Transportation to Crematory,  Transfer of Remains (75 mile radius), Funeral Coach (Hearse) (75 mile radius), Floral Vehicle (75 mile radius), and Rental Casket, 

 

Memorial Service

The following items are included in the package:  Services of Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer of Remains (75 mile radius), Transportation to Crematory, Cremation, Cremation Fee, Refrigeration up to 3 day,  Cremation Container, and a Mortuary Chapel or Church Chapel Memorial Service.

 

Cremation with Visitation

The following items are included in this package:  Services of Funeral Director and Staff, Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Sheltering Remains, Transfer of Remains (75 mile radius), Night or Day time viewing at funeral home (2hrs), Cremation, Transportation to Crematory, Cremation Fee, and Cremation Container.

 

Direct Cremation

The following items are included in this package: Services of Funeral Director and Staff,  Sheltering Remains, Transfer of Remains (75 mile radius), Transportation to Crematory, Cremation.

Memorial Service without Cremation Services

If your loved one passed away at another location and has already been cremated, and you are just wanting a memorial service we are honored to help.

Ashley Valley Signature Veteran Cremation Services

At Ashley Valley Funeral Home, we are eternally indebted to our military veterans who courageously serve our nation and protect our freedom. We honor our veterans by assisting their families with obtaining all veterans' benefits, Social Security benefits and life insurance benefits.

 

Depending on eligibility, benefits may include:

  • Memorial U.S. flag

  • Presidential Memorial Certificate

  • Veterans Administration headstone or marker

  • Military flag folder and presenter

  • Full military honors provided by our local American Legion Post 11. 

 

We are here to ensure you receive the valuable veteran benefits your loved one worked so hard to earn. We specialize in explaining and obtaining the federal burial benefits you and your dependents are entitled to receive.
