Ann M. McGinnis


Ann Marion Dixon McGinnis, 89, passed peacefully from this mortal experience on February 7, 2018. She was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Earl and Lily Dixon and was the fifth of six children. Ann grew up during The Great Depression and World War II. As a child she learned to be industrious and hardworking becoming expert at any and all homemaking skills. She even knitted socks and gloves (along with her classmates) for the soldiers. Ann has always been the life of the party and a friend to all who knew her. She was high-spirited and adventurous. Ann was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully throughout her life. She was also an incredibly talented individual. Any and all arts and crafts she tried, she excelled at. She was known for her baking, sewing, painting (including China plates and other porcelain), quilting, gardening, tatting, smocking, knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, and especially for her thoughtfulness and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward O. “Mac” McGinnis, and son, Bill (Vicki) McGinnis.

She is survived by her children, Kevin McGinnis, Tim McGinnis, Beth (Craig) Stogner, and Deidre (Michael) Durrant. In addition, two sisters, Doreen (Jerry - deceased) Supple, and Carrol (Fred) Fairbanks and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11AM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West). Interment will be in the Rockpoint cemetery.
