Darryl J. Griggs passed away surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Vernal on December 9, 2017.
Darryl was born on December 19, 1962 in Ramapo, New York to Vern and Sharon Griggs. Darryl was a loving husband to Rhonda and a loving father to Dru. He was the best “Uncledad” ever to his nieces and nephews.
Darryl was an avid outdoorsman; finding happiness spending afternoons fishing with friends, camping, hiking, and riding four wheelers with his family. He loved sharing stories about his childhood on Coos Bay, Oregon, his years working in the oilfields, and offering his anecdotal humor to lighten everyone’s mood. He was a gentle man that never required much to keep a smile on his face, other than the love of his wife and daughter, music on the stereo, and a beer with good friends. He was forever positive in his approach to living and was a constant example of this to his daughter, nieces, and nephews throughout his life.
He leaves a large space to fill in the hearts of those who have known and shared their lives with him.
Darryl is survived by his wife Rhonda, daughter Dru, brother Craig (Kim), mother-in-law Sharon, sisters-in-law: Kathy, Vicky, Karla and Janet; and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister Frankie, brother Dale, father-in-law Richard and brother-in-law Rick.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Open Arms Community Church (435 North Vernal Avenue) at 11AM in Vernal.
