Bob Russell
Bobby Lou Russell, 81, of Lindon, long-time Vernal resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved one at his home on Thursday, December 7, 2017 of natural causes. He was born December 29, 1935 in Moorewood, Oklahoma to Robert Harold and Pauline Young Russell. He married Joyce Childs on July 27, 1958 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Bob grew up in Orem and attended schools there, graduating from Lincoln High School. Bob was baptized a member of the LDS Church when he was 18 years old and shortly thereafter joined the U S Army and served in Germany. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping on the mountain with family and friends. He worked for Coca Cola in Vernal for many years and also Ashley Valley Medical Center. Bob was a devoted member of the LDS Church and especially enjoyed serving in the Vernal Temple.
Bob is survived by his wife Joyce; three children: Charlene (Kelly) Kupfer, Eagle Mountain; Denise (Blaine) Hunting, Camp Verde, AZ and Boyd (Ashley) Russell, Vernal; 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and his sister, Janet (Doug) Cook, Pleasant Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Fra Russell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Lindon West Stake Center, 250 West 600 South (1600 N 1050 W, Orem) Lindon, UT where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00-10:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 72. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
