Karren Bergquist Glines

Karren Bergquist Glines was born May 17, 1950 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Keith and Phyllis Bergquist. She married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Voy Glines on November 21, 1970 in Roosevelt, Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on December 13, 1971. She passed away on November 1, 2017 in Vernal, Utah surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Glines and her children Debbie (Don); Michelle (Lee) Thomas; Michael (Megan) Glines; Rebecca (Craig) Nebeker; and Toni (Ryan) Moulton; 13 grandchildren; 8 siblings; 5 siblings-in law; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored. She is preceded in death by her parents Keith and Phyllis Bergquist; parents-in-law Charles and Lazelle Glines; brother-in-law Kevin Conway; and sister-in-law Kay Glines.

Karren was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah. She then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and Utah State University in Roosevelt, Utah.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading books, camping, boating, riding 4-wheelers, gardening, canning, keeping track of football, and listening to current events on talk radio. But her most favorite thing in the whole world was spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren.

She loved to make “Goodie Bags” for her grandchildren on the holidays. She also enjoyed giving the kids quarters and dollar bills to buy treats at the splash park every summer. She looked forward to ordering treats for her kids from Swiss Colony and Cheryl’s Cookies for the holidays and having family picnics in the “Jungle.”

She served in many callings in her church. She served in the Young Women’s, Young Women’s sports program, Primary, Cub Scouts, and Gospel Doctrine, but the calling she loved the most was playing piano for the primary children.

Karren was a loving, selfless person. She never complained about anything and was very content with her life. She took care of everyone and was the happiest when she was in the presence of her loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 11AM at the Vernal 7th Ward LDS Chapel (850 West 100 North). A viewing for family and friends will be held Monday evening from 6-8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Tuesday 9:45-10:45AM at the church. Interment will be in the Tridell Cemetery under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
