Minnie Phyllis Hunting Schulthes, age 90, passed away peacefully
October 16, 2017 at the Senior Villa in Roosevelt, Utah. She was born
December 18, 1926 in Vernal, Utah to Earl Everett and Phyllis Pearl Williams Hunting. She was the third child and only girl in a family of eight. She married Mark Jay Schulthes on June 1, 1953. They had two girls and later divorced.
Minnie loved baking and trying new recipes, traveling, gardening but most of all her girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of the LDS church, The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the local TOPS club.
Minnie is survived by her daughter Jayne Richens; three grandchildren, Brandy Marie (Chet) Atwood, Nicholas Jay (Michelle) Richens, Joseph Earl (Kaytia Madsen) Richens; six great-grandchildren: Kendra Dee, Jaycob Kugan and Taydin Grady Atwood, Michael Allen and Leah Marie Richens, and Jaylee Ann Richens; and brother Allen D. (Joan) Hunting, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Earl Brandon, Nathan Henry, Max R., Ray W., Oran A., Dell P. Hunting, and daughter Erlene Schulthes.
Funeral services for Minnie Phyllis Hunting Schulthes, age 90, of Vernal, will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Vernal 3rd Ward Chapel (475 West 100 South). A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 A.M. at the chapel.
