Alfred Pearl Marshall
Alfred Pearl Marshall, age 94, passed away on August 29, 2017 in Vernal, Utah. Al was born on September 10, 1922 in Yuma, Colorado to LR Marshall and Dora Petrie Marshall.
He married the love of his life Bernis Wise on March 16, 1947. They started their lives together in Colorado. There the both completed their education getting their BS degrees. He taught and coached football, basketball, and baseball for 40 years in the states of Colorado, Utah and California. Together they had three amazing children who they supported in all their dreams and activities. With that they gave them seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren (one coming in March 2018), and two great great grandchildren. They loved their families and all the family gatherings. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Colorado Rockies and Broncos. He was a proud American that served for the United Stated Army Air Forces during the World War II. As a Vet he drove the VA van for over 15 years from Vernal to Salt Lake City taking Vets to their weekly doctors appointments. He wore his DAV hat with pride up to the end. Al is survived by his children Jan (Flo) Caballero, Tulare, CA; Jim (Peggy) Marshall, Vernal, Utah; Brad (Sarah) Marshall, Denham Springs, LA; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, one great grandchild to be born in March 2018; two great great grandchildren; and brother James Robert Marshall, Lakewood, CO.
He is preceded in death by his lovely wife Bernis Marshall; his parents Dora Petrie Marshall and Layman Robert Marshall; three brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11AM at the Rockpoint Cemetery with Military honors provided by American Legion Post 11 and the Utah National Guard. Services will be under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home
