Renee Martinsen Gardiner
Renee Martinsen Gardiner, age 76, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family on June 9, 2017. Renee was born January 20, 1941 to Lynn and Clelia Jones Martinsen in Vernal Utah. She was raised in vernal and graduated from Uintah High School in 1959. Later that year Renee was the Dinosaur Round Up Rodeo Queen. She attended and graduated cosmetology school in Salt Lake City Utah.
She Married Wayne Gardiner on February 17, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have 3 children 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in several callings. Her main love was her family. She enjoyed her time spent in the Dinah Spurs Riding Club and watching her family participate in rodeos. She loved doing hair and found joy in the many close friendships she made and the friends and memories have lasted throughout her life.
She was proceeded in death by her parents: Lynn and Clelia Martinsen and her grandson Bryce Gardiner.
She is survived by husband, Wayne Gardiner of Vernal, Utah; Son Derrin (Elizabeth) Gardiner of Salt Lake City, Utah; Daughter Korin (Randy) Murray of Vernal, Utah; Son Kirt (Heidi) Gardiner of Newton, Utah as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday June 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Naples Second Ward LDS Chapel (2313 South 1500 East). A viewing will be held Wednesday June 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ashely Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West) and Thursday 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will be held at the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Ashely Valley Funeral Home.
