Lonnie Kaye Hall Nelson
Lonnie Hall Nelson passed away at the Uintah Care Center on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 72. Lonnie was born on November 21, 1944 in Vernal, Utah to Grace Morrison and Butch Hall. Lonnie married her sweetheart and love of her life, Wayne Hollenbeck Nelson on January 18, 1968 in Vernal, Utah.
Lonnie attended Uintah High School, Wasatch Academy and Steven Henagar Business College. She worked as an accounting clerk at First Security Bank central operations in Salt Lake City. After moving back to Vernal, she was in secretarial and accounting at various oilfield companies including: Split Mountain Pipe and Steel, Belco Petroleum and worked the last ten years of her career with Diamond Shamrock/Maxus Energy.
Wayne and Lonnie also owned PL Construction/Pit Liner Company for over 14 years.
Lonnie enjoyed flower gardening, rock hunting, horseback riding in her younger years, and she and her husband’s membership and involvement with The Vernal Elk’s Lodge.
Lonnie is survived by her daughter Nikki (Ray) Lund, grandsons: Carson and Parker Lund, sister Judy (Hal) Hatch.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Nelson, parents: Grace Morrison Hall and Butch Hall and brother Rex Hall.
To honor Lonnie’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
