Melba Rae Burns Slaugh
Melba Rae Burns Slaugh passed away peacefully on 02/03/2017 at home surrounded by her family, and her beloved pets Annie, Freckles and Sassy. Melba was born 05/18/1934 on Horseshoe Bend (Vernal) Utah to Burnice John and Viola Louisa Burns.
She married Lynn Slaugh on Oct 8, 1951 and was later sealed in the temple on March 3, 1954. They had 5 children Kerry Bullock, Nancy Nelson, Kristine (Casey) McNeill, David (Rose) Slaugh and Cody (Terri) Slaugh. 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, along with many adopted kids and grandchildren.
Melba loved building relationships with friends and family spending time with them any way she could. There was not anything she didn’t want to do or learn about. She tooled saddles, taught her kids and grandkids to knit, cook, crotchet, quilt, paint, do puzzles and all kinds of crafts. She loved camping and would gather rocks and drift wood exploring the outdoor world.
She served in many callings in the church, from the nursery to Relief Society, Primary and Young Womens presidencies; she loved serving the lord and had a strong testimony of the gospel.
Survived by all her husband, children and grandchildren and her sister Dorothy Mecham. Preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers and sisters.
