Marie Emma Workman Gardner
Marie Emma Workman Gardner, age 80, of Vernal, passed away the morning of December 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born on August 19, 1936 to Sarah Oaks and Leland Workman in Vernal, Utah. Marie married Ned L. Gardner on April 4, 1958 in Vernal, Utah.
Marie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed: family gatherings, camping, the Utah Jazz, bowling, word searches, knitting and sewing, playing cards with friends, ladies golf and cooking for her family. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren play baseball and attending performances. Marie served as the Uintah County Recorder for many years and was an elite member of The Snoop Sisters.
Marie made everyone feel welcome with delicious homemade food. She loved her family dearly and lived for her children and grandchildren. She loved to have family get together for any reason. There was always food, games and fun. Marie was a strong and courageous woman and was extremely generous.
We love you Mom, Gammy, Sister and Friend ~ we will miss you and cherish your memories forever.
Marie is survived by her husband Ned L Gardner, sons: Rick (Mary) Gardner, Ron (Marsha) Gardner, Scott (Carrie) Gardner; daughter Angi (Andrew) Mulville; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren,
She is preceded in death by her parents Leland and Sarah Workman and her sister Lanae Merkley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Glines 6th Ward LDS Chapel (78 South Aggie Blvd). A viewing will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00-10:45AM at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
