James B. Simper
James B. Simper passed away on September 11, 2016 in Woodburn, Oregon. He was born on May 16, 1935 in Vernal, Utah to Norma Luella Wardle and Walter B. Simper. James married Maureen H. Simper on April 20, 1961 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
James enjoyed riding horses and crocheting Afghans. He was a member of the Journeyman’s Plumber Union for 50 years.
James is survived by his wife Maureen Simper; Children: Samuel (Barbara) Simper, Alma (Addie) Simper, Matthew Simper, Rebecca Valero and Roxanne Simper; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter B. Simper and Norma Luella Wardle Simper and grandson Ryan Michael Simper.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10AM at the Maeser 2nd Ward LDS Chapel (2575 North 1500 West). A viewing for family and friends was held Saturday morning from 9-9:45AM at the Chapel. Burial was in the Dry fork Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 11 and the Utah National Guard. Services are under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
