Bev lived a full life and passed peacefully in her sleep returning home to her lord on 9.3.16. She lived her early years traveling throughout Colorado and Wyoming in oilfield camps with her parents and siblings. At the age of 11 they moved to Vernal, and at the age of 15 she moved to Ogden, UT on her own to attend Beauty College.
Bev is survived by her sisters; Pat Gale (Floyde Gale), Elaine Buist, eight (8) nieces and nephews and 17 grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Alvin “Kick” Hardy, Blanche Hardy, brother Billy, sister Peggy, husband Howard and numerous pets including lastly her two (2) cats.
Bev married young to Howard and continued her life moving throughout Wyoming, Montana, Washington State, Idaho, and settling in Las Vegas, NV for 23 years. She worked as a PBX operator at several casinos and hotels. Bev served as the Grand Worthy Matron for the Eastern Stars and remained an active member to her passing.
Bev retired in Vernal where she was able to spend time with her family; she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her kids, and later her grand nieces and nephews. Family remained paramount in her life as she was a caregiver for many upon her return to Vernal.
Bev had a love for the outdoors and lived a very active life of fishing, camping, boating, gardening, taking care of her yard, family and pets. The simple things in life gave her joy and peace.
Bev and Howard spent winters in Yuma, AZ enjoying sunshine year round and traveling to Mexico to shop. Bev traveled around the world enjoying a Mediterranean cruise shopping and seeing the sights at the ports; Hong Kong, Cairo Egypt, Italy, Barcelona Spain etc…She traveled to numerous Hawaiian Islands, Virgin Islands and throughout the United States. When in Vernal you could find Bev tootling around in the motorized carts provided by the stores.
As Bev aged she continued to enjoy her family, friends, neighbors in the Pine Shadows her caregivers; great nieces Anave (Billings) Sweet, Lindsay Gamble and friend Barb Sanchez.
A memorial service will be held at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home in Vernal, Utah on Thursday, September 8th at 6:30 p.m. in lieu of flowers please make donations in her name at the Humane Society.
