Mark Thompson
Mark Thompson age 53, of Vernal, passed away on August 24, 2016 at Jarvie Ranch, Utah. He was born on December 9, 1962 to Joyce R. Thompson and William Hoeft Thompson. Mark was married in the Logan Utah Temple on March 15, 1990 and later divorced.
Mark enjoyed photography, ham radio, fishing, shooting, bird watching, playing bagpipes, music, and literature. Mark was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a mission in the Chile, Santiago Mission. He was a Master at the Ashley #20 Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Shriners, Knights Templar, ARRL, Skywarn and ARES.
Mark is survived by his mother Joyce R. Thompson; brothers: William Thompson and Michael Thompson; sister Lisa Boyd, Children: Ashley, Carol, and Jonathan Thomspon; grandmother Margaret Heggie Reay; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncle, cousins and friends.
Mark is preceded in death by his grandparents: Dean Reay, Wilford and Louise Thompson; father William Hoeft Thompson and uncles Max Thompson.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 28, 2016 at the Vernal 3rd Ward LDS Chapel at 10AM. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Monday 9-9:45AM at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Altamont Cemetery with Military honors by the Utah National Guard. Services are under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
