Lanette Perry Carlson
Lanette Carlson, age 69, of Vernal, Utah passed away July 1, 2016 from neurological injuries inflicted by a stroke.
Born on October 20, 1946, Lanette is the daughter of Leland and Velma Perry. She grew up in Lapoint and graduated from Union High school with the class of 1964. She married Nels Carlson of Roosevelt in 1965 and had eight children.
Lanette is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She earned a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from Utah State University in 1992. From 1992 until 2013 she managed the front office of East Elementary School in Roosevelt.
Lanette was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Velma, and by her brother Raymond Perry. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Shannon (Susan) Carlson, Nicole (Jon) Graf, Micah (Lori) Carlson, Anthony (Tiffany) Carlson, Jared (Carrie) Carlson, Katrina (Mike) Gurr, Greg (Cassi) Carlson, and Trevor (Aimee) Carlson; by 39 grandchildren and a great grandchild; and by her sisters Shirleen VanLeuven, Jean Merkley, and Vonae Young.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00A.M. in the Vernal 3rd Ward LDS Chapel located at 475 West 100 South, next to the Vernal Temple. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 West and Friday 9:00-9:45A.M. at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Lapoint Cemetery under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
