Dale Kent "Kale" Barratt

Dale Kent “Kale” Barratt, age 37, born April 11, 1979 in Roosevelt, Utah to John G. Barratt and Gail Ann Barratt passed away on May 25, 2016.

A celebration of life will be held at the Avalon Community Center on Tuesday,

May 31, 2016 from 1-4 P.M. Kale’s Harley will make one last ride to the river for a dedication and drum ceremony beginning at 5 P.M.

Kale loved life; Kale lived life. Kale shared his life with family and friends – many who became family. He loved fishing, hunting and camping. He also loved building anything like guns, knives, long bows; you name it and he could build it or fix it. Kale loved the farm, the river, the fresh air, and Kale loved that Harley. He had nieces and nephews and a gob of kids he called his own. He cherished sharing his time with them and teaching them to fish or shoot.

Kale had a daughter, not of his blood, but “blood don’t make family,” he would always say, so he raised her up as his own.

Kale will be so greatly missed by his love Cheryl Ross Driffill and his daughter Alexis “Lexi’ Wood. He will be missed terribly by his father John G. Barratt and mother Gail Ann Barratt of Avalon, Utah; by his siblings: Logan (Brooke) Barratt of Vernal, Utah and Coletti (Mitchell) Smith of Wendell, Idaho; nephews and nieces: Gage and Mason Barratt, Webb, Cree and Braiden Glauner; Kara and Caden Smith; Gunner, Raiden, and JennaCee Harrison who he considered his own.

Kale also believed in the saying – life is short; break the rules. Forgive quickly. Love honestly. Laugh easy. Keep it simple. Ride often, ride free, and never regret anything that makes you smile.
