Benjamin Marshall Bridges
Benjamin Marshall Bridges, age 85, passed away on May 12, 2016 at his home in Vernal. He was born on February 8, 1931 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Marjorie and George Bridges. He married Mary Becker on April 11, 1954 in Sterling, Colorado.
Dad loved camping, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling and drinking coffee with friends. Dad was a pilot and loved flying. He served as a deputy sheriff for several years. He was also involved with the DWR and Fish and Game. He served on the local planning commission. He loved to buy, sell and trade anything and everything.
Ben is survived by his wife, Mary; seven children: Sandy (Steve) Christiansen, Mindy (Shannon) Karren, Benna (Mark) Muth, Earl (Tessie) Bridges, Julee Reynolds (Russ) Justice, Becky (Rick) York, Twain (Carrie) Bridges; 21 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 1 brother, George (Marsha) Bridges and several nieces and nephews,
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Blanch (Gene) Bess, Betty (Aaron) Sachs and Jimmy (Belma) Bridges.
Memorial services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11A.M. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West). A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military honors by the American Legion Post 11 and the Utah National Guard. Services are under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
