Carolyn Sue Piantes
Carolyn Sue Fennell Piantes of Vernal, Utah passed away on May 3, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on January 17, 1951 to C.C. “Pete” Fennell and Juanita Reese Fennell, both deceased. She married John Piantes on December 5, 1969.
Carol loved children dearly. She worked with infants and toddlers, many of whom had special needs as an Early Intervention Specialist for Prime Time 4Kids for 33 years. Carol not only touched the lives of the thousands of children she worked with over the years, she was an advocate for parents and families with special needs children. When not at work, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She and her husband John along with their family raised and raced Thoroughbred horses and traveled to race tracks throughout the western United States for over forty years gaining many friends and extended family.
Carol is survived by her life-long husband John; daughters: Paula (Tracy) Henline and Angela (Ryan) Siddoway, and son Chris Piantes. She leaves behind five grandchildren and her siblings.
Funeral services for Carolyn Sue Piantes, age 65, of Vernal, wife of John Piantes, will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Jensen LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Saturday 9:45~10:45 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
