Frances Faye Wall Price
Frances Faye Price, 80, passed away at her home on the evening of April 2, 2016. Born September 9, 1935, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Leonard Pearl Wall and Vista Josephine Atwood Wall, Frances grew up as the middle child, with eight siblings.
She graduated from Altamont High, where she had lots of friends and was a super cute cheerleader. Fans remember her flipping across the floor and landing in the splits. She met her future husband, John Price, at the open-air dance hall in Revola during a tag dance. They were married June 12, 1953 and later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They have five children—Johnny, Danny, Derk, Cathy and Bart.
Fran, who was affectionately known as “GIb” to her family, loved being around her kids and grandkids. She was always happy to visit and play lots of games. She was a great cook who always tried her best to help everyone feel welcome and cared for. She worked hard at home and was a master of customer service at Ashton’s Department Store, Gibson’s, and Basin Sports. She had a very outgoing personality and was a friend to everyone she met.
Frances was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a very strong testimony and conviction. She valiantly served in many callings in the church, including Primary President, librarian and teacher, but her favorite was in the Relief Society Presidency in the Vernal 7th Ward.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Clela Deshler and LaRae Kiniry, younger brother Brent Wall, and grandson Joe Price.
Fran will be deeply missed by her dedicated caregiver and eternal companion of 63 years, John; her five children: Johnny (Donna), Danny, Derk (Jacqui), Cathy Hall (Stacy), and Bart; siblings Jay Wall, Norma Mulkey, Jo Mathews, Cherrie Yeager, and Brad Wall; as well as many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Fran’s family, though saddened by her sudden departure, takes great comfort and hope in the Savior, Jesus Christ. Fran’s love and legacy will live on forever in the lives of all those she loved and touched throughout her life.
Funeral Services will be held Friday April 8, 2016 at the Vernal 7th Ward LDS Chapel (850 West 100 North) at 11AM. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Friday 9:45~10:45AM at the chapel. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home. We love you, Gib!
