Anita Kay Greenhow Caldwell Harlan
Anita Kay Greenhow Caldwell Harlan was born on May 31, 1960 in Roosevelt, Utah to Philip Bert & Lela Elaine Greenhow. She passed away on March 22, 2016, surrounded by family at her home in Vernal, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Anita graduated from Uintah High School class of 1978. She married Wayne B. Caldwell on June 3, 1978 in Vernal, UT; they later divorced but remained friends because of their three boys. She married Wesley John Harlan, Jr. on August 21, 1999 in Elko, NV. John was her best friend and lovingly cared for her throughout her illness.
The most important thing in Anita's life was her relationship with her Lord, Jesus Christ. She found salvation at an early age and after that she never missed a chance to spread the good news about Jesus. She enjoyed sharing her faith with family, friends, strangers and in the end, her nurses and doctors.
She loved spending time with her large family. She was a mother to some, a second mother to many and most importantly she was simply “Ma” to us all. She was also a devoted wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend.
Anita also loved her pets; especially her fur-babies Nikitah Sakarai and the late Miss Glorie Bea. She was passionate about Harley Davidson motorcycles, reading, music, photography, painting, crafts, nature, herbal remedies and essential oils. She was fascinated by wolves and dreamed of owning one.
She was the proud owner of Covenant Homes and Joshua's Journey Christian Bookstore, where she was able to share her love of Jesus with her customers. She really enjoyed the years she rode with the Christian Motorcycle Association spreading the salvation message through acts of service. The greatest expression of her faith was during her time as Minister for Divine Revelations Ministries.
She is survived by: her beloved husband John Harlan; her children, step-children and their spouses: Cody Caldwell, Kriston (April) Caldwell, Kyle (Melissa) Caldwell, Amber (Nathan) Chinchurreta, Kalene (Matt) Dittman, Jason (Megan) Harlan, Harley Harlan and Dakota Harlan; her five grandchildren: Austin, Paisley, Olivia, Delila, and Ryan; her mother, Lela Greenhow; her siblings and their spouses: Linda (Ernie) Holmes, Jim Greenhow, Patsey (John) Kornfeld, and Lori (Eric) Dethlefsen; and her many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her father Bert Greenhow; her sister Zelda Greenhow; and Wayne Caldwell.
