Morgan Dave Clark
Morgan Dave Clark, age 73, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016, after a long, courageous battle with Lewy Bodies Disease. He passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Vernal, Utah, on September 17th, 1942, to David Vergil Clark and Raie Cook Clark. Morgan married Gloria Dye on May 28th, 1965, in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they had three daughter's, Shari, Christi and Angie.
After graduating high school he enlisted in the National Guard and served at Fort Lewis, Washington, during the Berlin Crisis. Morgan worked as a salesman in the oil industry until the mid '80's, then attended the Bridgerland Applied Technology College to become a meat cutter. He worked for Smith's Food and Drug for ten years in the meat department then returned to the oilfield.
He loved camping on Diamond Mountain with his family, hunting, fishing, and horseback trips to the High Uintah Mountains. Morgan was an avid rodeo fan and never missed the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, until his health wouldn't allow him to attend. He was especially kind to animals, and always enjoyed having dogs and horses. He loved attending family gatherings and reunions. His greatest joy was his Family, he truly enjoyed the countless times we spent together for picnics, and celebrating the holidays.
Morgan was a kind and compassionate man who loved to serve the Lord through his various church callings and enjoyed serving in the Temple.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Gloria, daughter's Shari Sunkees, Christi Jenkins, Angie (Ronnie) Harflinger. Grandchildren Kelton (Tabrina) Jenkins, Alaysha Sunkees, Abbi Harflinger, Randon Jenkins, Dace Harflinger, Jaron Jenkins, Nicholas Sunkees and Ashton Jenkins. Sister's Jan (Jay) Knudsen, Layton, Ut, Pam (Nolan) Jackson, Pat (Gerald) Abplanalp, all of Vernal. Brother, Corey (Tina) Clark of Taylorsville, Utah, and Brother-in-law Merrill Adams of Florida.
He is in preceded in death by: Parents, Dave and Raie Clark, Sister Judy Adams, Brother Chad Clark, In-Laws, Grover and Grace Dye, Son-in-Law Wayne Jenkins, and Niece Shaunie Killian Hogan.
The family would like to thank Kelly Anderson, Sheila, Keisha, Cassie, Janice, Donna and Kim of Good Shephard Hospice for their kind and loving care they showed Morgan this past month.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Maeser Stake Center (2745 West 1000 North) at 11AM. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Monday 9:45~10:45AM at the chapel. Burial will be the Rockpoint Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 11 and the Utah National Guard. Services are under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
