Donald Ellsworth Campbell
Donald Ellsworth Campbell passed away on February 13, 2016 in Roosevelt, Utah. He was born April 19, 1930 to Eva Hall and John Campbell in South Acworth, New Hampshire. He married Lena “Sandy” Inez on September 22, 1961 in Gunnison, Colorado.
Don was a jack-of-all-trades. We never found anything he couldn’t fix. He loved being a Cowboy. He broke and trained horses. At one time he was alias Billy Trails. Fishing, hunting and camping was things he readily enjoyed. He worked on ranches, farms and in the oilfield until he retired. He was once in the movie “Four Queens and a King” with Clark Gable.
Don is preceded in death by: his wife Inez “Sandy” Duncan, and two sisters: Martha Brophy and Ruth Godnow.
Don is survived by his two sisters: Louise (Virgil) Moreland of Kansas and Becky Bowles of Arizona; two children: Lonnie (Marie) McGill of Vernal and Larry Wayne (Irma) McGill of Arkansas, grandchildren: Larry Jr. (Laura) McGill of Arkansas, Tina (Eddy) Brown of Oklahoma, Lisa (LaRue) Linsen of Arkansas, Stacey McGill of Florida, Travis McGill and Weston (Jessica) McGill, all of Vernal; and nine great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
